William Bruce Hugo, known as "Bruce",82, passed away on Friday, September 13, 2024, at St. Luke's North Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri.

Bruce was born on November 27, 1941, in Independence, Kansas, the son of Eugene Hugo and Hilda (Royer) Hugo. He grew up in Cherryvale and graduated from Cherryvale High School.

He was united in marriage to Carol Blackburn, and they later divorced. He later was united in marriage to Catherine "Kate" Hoffman July 16, 2006 in Kansas City, Missouri and she survives at the home.

Bruce enjoyed a successful career as a salesman at Grass Pad in Olathe, Kansas, where he worked tirelessly for 26 years before retiring. His work ethic was evident in every aspect of his life, reflecting a steadfast pursuit of excellence.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Bruce proudly served in the Kansas Army National Guard, demonstrating his commitment to his country. He was a devoted sports fan, particularly passionate about the Kansas City Chiefs and women's soccer. He would also go and play the slots machines at are casinos.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Catherine "Kate" Hugo (Hoffman), three sons, David Hugo of Omaha, Nebraska, and Mike Hugo and his wife Cheryl of Omaha, Nebraska, Jeff Hugo and his wife Bretta of Cherryvale, Kansas, and his siblings, sister, Jean Ann Beach in Chicago, Illinois, and sister, Shannon Waters in Kansas City, Missouri. Bruce's legacy continues with six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, with another on the way, creating a tapestry of family that exemplifies his love and devotion.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Hilda, his father, Eugene, and his brother, Ralph Hugo.

Bruce Hugo's kind spirit, resilience, and unwavering dedication to family will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and in the stories that will be told for generations to come.

Cremation has taken place with family services to be held at a later date.
