William "Bill" G. Huneycutt

William “Bill” G. Huneycutt, 85, of Cherryvale, Kansas passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.

William Glen Huneycutt was born March 14, 1938, in Cherryvale, Kansas, the son of Glen W. Huneycutt and Vera (Plumley) Huneycutt. He grew up in Cherryvale and graduated from Cherryvale High School in 1956. He also attended the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas.

He later enlisted with the United States Air Force attaining the rank of Airman First Class (E-4) on October 4, 1960, and was honorably discharged October 2, 1964.

Bill worked for Rohr Aircraft in San Diego, California when he was younger. He was a full-time farmer in 1979 and farmed by himself and also with his brother Jim and son, Brent. He later was employed as a machinist for Jensen Brothers in Coffeyville and retired from there after many years of employment.

He enjoyed collecting antiques, going to auctions, traveling, refinishing old furniture, amassing Keen Kutter old tools, and old replica International Harvester and Oliver tractors.

Survivors include his children, Brent (Amy) Huneycutt of Cherryvale, Kansas, Dianne (Chad) Montgomery of Pensacola, Florida, Kenny (Cyndee) Huneycutt of Wichita, Kansas, brother, Gary Huneycutt of Gateway, Arkansas, grandchildren, Skyelar Maloney, Tyler Huneycutt, Kylie Huneycutt, Kolbey Huneycutt, Kamden Huneycutt, Lauren Montgomery, great grandchildren, Finn Maloney, and Bellamy Huneycutt.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jim Huneycutt.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. Sunday, March 26, 2023, at Wickham Family Funeral Home, 216 East 4th, Cherryvale, Kansas 67335.

Celebration of Life services will be held 10:30 A.M., Monday, March 27, 2023, at Wickham Family Funeral Home.

Interment will follow services at Fairview Cemetery in Cherryvale.

Memorial remembrances are suggested to the Cherryvale Food Bank and they may be left or mailed to the funeral home.
