Twila J. Carr, 85, of Fredonia, Kansas passed away Saturday, July 1, 2023 at home surrounded by her family.
Twila June Carr was born June 4, 1938 in Fredonia, Kansas the daughter of Glenn L. Fyfe and Helen S. (Schweda) Fyfe. She grew up in Fredonia and graduated from Fredonia High School in 1957.
On June 9, 1957 in Fredonia, she was united in marriage to Wilbur Lee Carr and he preceded her in death February 8, 1983.
Twila enjoyed board games, card games, puzzles, taking care of her flowers and loved driving around town to see what was going on. Most importantly she cherished her family and especially her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great grandchild.
She worked as a stay-at-home mom when she was younger. Later she worked in retail at TG&Y and Alco. She also worked at the Iceberg Drive In.
Right after her marriage to Wilbur the couple moved around with his job living in Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, Texas and Oklahoma.
Twila was a member of the First Chirstian Church of Fredonia. She was a Deacon and taught Sunday School for many years.
Survivors include her children, Marsha (Nick) Miller of Fredonia, Kansas, Roger (Tammy) Carr of Wichita, Kansas, Kevin (Peggy) Carr of Fredonia, Kansas, sister, Rose Colhover of Chanute, Kansas, sister-in-law Fontella Fyfe of Pittsburg, Kansas, 4 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Carl, brother, Larry and half-sister, Inez.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until service time Thursday, July 6, 2023 at the First Christian Church, 303 North 7th, Fredonia, Kansas 66736.
Celebration of Life Services will be held 11:00 A.M., Thursday at the church. Private family burial will take place after the service.
Memorial remembrances are suggested to the First Christian Church and they may be left or mailed to Wickham Family Funeral Home, 510 North 7th, Fredonia, Kansas 66736.
