Tim Allen Costin

Tim Allen Costin, 78, passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Neodesha Care and Rehab with Hospice Services provided by Harry Hynes Hopsice surrounded by family. He was born on July 21, 1948, in Wichita, Kansas to James and Betty Costin.

Tim graduated from Altoona Midway High School in 1966. Tim played football at Independence Community College and at Fort Hays. He went on to live a life shaped by hard work and the outdoors, working in construction and as a farmer, stockman, and rancher. He also served his country for seven years in the Kansas National Guard.

On July 9, 2000, at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Neodesha, Kansas he married the love of his life Leona Latta, and she survives at home.

Tim enjoyed the simple things that meant the most to him. He liked to fish, garden, attend rodeos, care for his lawn, and read. He was a genuine cowboy at heart. More than anything, he enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and great grandkids, who brought him great happiness.

He is survived by his wife, Leona Costin, of the home. He also leaves behind his daughters, Kelly Williams of Humboldt, Kansas, Margaret Robertson of Chanute, Kansas, Jill Gann of Altoona, Kansas, and Angela Teehee of Stark, Kansas; as well as his brother, Jim Costin of Buffalo, Kansas. Tim will also be remembered by his 12 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and 2 great great and the many family members and friends whose lives he touched. Tim is also survived by his best friend, his dog Ruby.

He was preceded in death by his son, Walter Robertson.

Tim will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, his love of the land, and the joy he found in family. His memory will be cherished by those who knew and loved him.

Cremation has taken place, with a graveside burial at a later date.
