Theo Karle Spillman Theo "Ted" K. Spillman, 91, of Arkansas City, Kansas formerly of Fredonia, Kansas passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at the Arkansas City Presbyterian Manor. Theo Karle Spillman was born February 8, 1925 in Coyville, Kansas the son of Jacob N. Spillman and Flossie (Marr) Spillman. On June 18, 1973 in Miami, Oklahoma he was united in marriage to Gwendolyn Darst and she survives at the Presbyterian Manor. Theo enlisted with the United States Army and served from April 12, 1945 and was honorably discharged July 23, 1946. He began working for the United States Post Office in 1985 as a rural mail carrier for 20 years. He also was a farmer for many years. Theo had his pilot license and flew as a private pilot from the Fredonia Airport. Theo was a Shriner for 55 years and held membership in the Methodist Church, VFW and American Legion. Survivors include his wife of the home, children, Sherry Conquest and husband Ron of Scottsdale, Arizona, Becky Bauman and husband Larry of Fredonia, Kansas, Ricky Spillman and wife Marta of Jonestown, Texas, Jamie Zirkel and husband Dennis of Wichita, Kansas, step son, Terry Cook of Bastrop, Texas, step daughter, Cindy Beach of Winfield, Kansas, two granddaughters, Ashley and Samantha and one great grandson, Max. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Marjorie and Mary Flo. Cremation has taken place with Graveside services held 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at Fredonia City Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by Fort Riley Honor Guard. Memorial remembrances are suggested to the Shriners for Crippled Children or Gentiva Hospice and they may be left at or mailed to Wickham Family Funeral Home, 510 N. 7th Street, Fredonia, Kansas 66736.
