Sharon June Kiister

Sharon June Kiister, beloved mother, grandmother departed this life on Sunday January 4, 2026, at her home in Cherryvale.

Sharon was born on June 23, 1937, in Walnut, Kansas, Sharon embraced the values of hard work and dedication throughout her life.

A proud graduate of Erie High School, Class of 1955, Sharon ventured into a fulfilling career that included roles at the Bendix Corporation and packaged film in Parsons, as well as serving as a clerk at Day & Night convenience store in Cherryvale. Her commitment to her work was only surpassed by her devotion to her family and her passions.

Sharon was a joyful spirit, taking pleasure in the simple things in life. She was an avid supporter of the Kansas City Chiefs and spent countless hours enjoying the thrills of the game.  She enjoyed spending time on the computer and connecting with friends on Facebook. Additionally, Sharon also enjoyed bowling. Sharon was a member of the Rainbow Girls, a Christian Church Group. She also was a Girl Scout Leader years ago.

On February 8, 1958, in Cherokee, Kansas Sharon was united in marriage to James Eugene "Gene" Kiister, they shared 55 years of marriage, until Gene's passing on October 7, 2013.

Sharon is survived by her loving children, Rick (Donna) Kiister and Lori Kiister, both residing in Cherryvale, Kansas. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her grandchildren: Ashley, Cody, Casey, Kyle, and Jaimee, as well as twelve great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Eugene "Gene" Kiister, as well as her son, Ron and wife Julie Kiister, parents Edwin Lundrigan and Fern (Roberts) Beissel.

A private family burial service to honor and celebrate her life will be held on Saturday January 10, 2026, at Fairview Cemetery in Cherryvale, Kansas.

Memorial remembrances may be made to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice and can be mailed or left at the funeral home, Wickham Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 216 E. 4th St. Cherryvale Kansas 67335.
