Scott Lee Goins, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on Saturday May 17, 2025, in St. Louis, Missouri, at the age of 60.
Scott was born on September 11, 1964, in Independence, Kansas, the son of Sherman (Mack) Goins and Shirley (Byers) Goins. Scott was known for his kind and selfless nature, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A dedicated Maintenance Machinist for 30 years at CVR Energy in, Coffeyville, Kansas, Scott embodied the values of hard work and perseverance. He was not only a skilled craftsman but also a mentor to many, sharing his knowledge with many. His commitment to his family was unwavering; he ensured that they always had what they needed, working as a provider, husband, father and the best Hapo.
Scott was united in marriage to Janna Keeling on May 23, 1986, in Cherryvale, Kansas and she survives at their home.
Scott's hobbies included dirt and tractor work, hot rods, and working on vehicles. He relished boating and cherished spending quality time with his family, creating countless memories that will be forever cherished. Known as the best "Hapo," Scott's love for his grandchildren, was evident in every moment spent together.
Scott is survived by his loving wife, Janna (Keeling) Goins, of Cherryvale, Kansas; his children, Grant (Kelsey) Goins, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and Morgan (Chad) Goins, of Altamont, Kansas; grandchildren Gentry and Kaison, as well as his siblings, Jeff (Sandy) Goins, of Cleora, Oklahoma, and Melanie (Tom) Blaes, of Cherryvale, Kansas. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Sherman (Mack) and Shirley Goins; his brother, William (Bill) Goins; and his in-laws, Leonard and Patricia Keeling.
The Celebration of Life Service for Scott Lee Goins will take place on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at the First Southern Baptist Church located at 717 East 6th Street in Cherryvale, Kansas. The service will commence at 1:00 PM.
Scott's legacy of kindness, hard work, and devotion to family will continue to inspire those who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to have him in their lives.
