Roy Fay Pack, 91, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2026, in Girard, Kansas. His life was defined by acts of kindness, unwavering integrity, and deep devotion to those he loved and served.
Fay was born on February 18, 1935, in Nogo, Arkansas to John Roy and Mary Josephine (Walker) Pack.
Fay’s journey began in the quiet landscapes of Arkansas, where he developed the values of hard work and compassion that would guide him throughout his life. As a skilled mechanic, Fay was known not just for his technical expertise but for his willingness to lend a hand to anyone in need. Neighbors, friends, and strangers alike recall his helpful spirit. He was a man who never hesitated to help, fostering a sense of community wherever he went.
Fay was united in marriage to Winnie Faye Scarberry on July 15, 1953, at Reno, Nevada. Together, they built a beautiful life, sharing a remarkable partnership for nearly 73 years.
His service to the United Brethren Church was a source of great pride and peace. Whether through painting or mowing the grounds, Fay contributed countless hours to ensure the church remained a welcoming place for all. His dedication to these tasks reflected not only his faith but also his belief in caring for shared spaces and enriching the lives of those around him.
Fay was a Christian and served and loved the Lord. He was saved as a young boy and baptized in Archie Creek in Arkansas.
Fay enjoyed playing his guitar and going to nursing homes to play and sing hymns. His positive attitude and cheerful giving brightened everyone’s day.
He is survived by his wife, Winnie Faye Pack, with whom he shared the joys and challenges of many years together. Their enduring partnership was a testament to the love and respect that anchored their home. Fay’s legacy lives on through his children: Brenda Faye Treiber, Johnny Ray (Carol) Pack, and Christina Lou (Harold) Westhoff, each of whom carries forward his lessons of kindness, resilience, and generosity.
Fay also has treasured siblings: Larry Pack and Gwin Driskill, and his memory continues as a guiding light among his grandchildren: Jimmy Aikins, Hannah Davis, Shawn Treiber, Kerri Treiber, Randall Treiber, Travis Pack, Gina Baugher, Denny Pack, Amber Borror, Wyatt Westhoff, and Sylvester (Wade) Westhoff. He has eighteen great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, his son, Jerry Don Pack, his siblings, Willard Pack, Pearlie Harmon, Don Pack, Cletis Pack, Kenneth Pack, Ida Carr, and Lelis Pack, and also a son-in-law, Bernard “Mike” Treiber. Their memories are joined with Fay’s, woven into the fabric of a closely-knit family that spans generations.
Roy Fay Pack’s presence in the world was a quiet but enduring force for good. His legacy will long persist in the hands he helped, the church he tended, and the hearts of a grateful family.
