Roger L. Ward

Roger L. Ward, a devoted family man and retired manufacturing professional, passed away on Saturday May 16, 2026, at Labette Health in Parsons, Kansas. Born on May 3, 1952, in Winfield, Kansas, Roger’s life was marked by dedication both to his work and to those he loved.

Roger graduated from Sedan High School in Sedan, Kansas, as part of the class of 1971. Following his education, he committed himself to a career at Spears Manufacturing, where he worked diligently for 20 years until his retirement.

Beyond his career, Roger had a passion for gaming and enjoyed watching western movies, pastimes that brought him quiet joy and relaxation. Most notably, however, he loved his family dearly, cherishing the time spent with them.

He is survived by his children, Kevin Ward and Jason Ward; his sister, Linda (Kent) Stancliffe, grandchildren Mika Taylor, Mackayla Ward, and Ion Ward; and a great-grandchild, Elizabeth. He is also remembered fondly by one aunt, niece, nephews and many cousins who were part of his extended family circle.

Roger was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Jack and Sarah (Hassard) Ward; his cherished wife, Tammy Ward; and his son, Bryan Ward. Their memories remain a lasting part of his story.

A graveside service to honor Roger’s life will be held on Friday June 5, 2026, beginning at 2:00 p.m. at Greenwood Cemetery located at 2057 Indian Rd in Sedan, Kansas. Friends and family are invited to gather and pay their respects as they remember a man who lived with heartfelt devotion to all he held dear.

Roger L. Ward’s legacy is one of love, dedication, and quiet strength. His presence will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew him.
