Robert "Bob" L. Norton

Robert L. Norton, 72, of Cherryvale, Kansas, passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2023. He was born on May 4, 1951, in Independence, Kansas. Known to his loved ones as "Bob," he will be remembered for his kind, generous, and proud nature.

Bob is survived by his children, Luke Norton and wife Carey of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Dia Melton and husband Rob of Petersburg, Virginia, Tracey Causey of Laramie, Wyoming, James Norton and wife Jody of Cameron, Missouri, and his brother Rick Norton of Pittsburg, Kansas, brother Jerry Norton of Wichita, Kansas, sister Mary Bennett of Ozark, Missouri, sister Barbara Bennett of Little Rock, Arkansas, sister Pam Webber of Wichita, Kansas, sister Leanne Howard of Pittsburg, Kansas, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Bertha Norton.

Bob attended Cherryvale High School, graduating in 1969. He began his career as a plumber and in construction in his younger days, later working with Bo Raida building fences until his ill health.

In his free time, Bob loved to drink beer, fish, and cook. He was particularly fond of cooking at My Place for the monthly steak feed and every Sunday for family and friends.

Cremation has taken place, and private family services will be held at a later date. The Wickham Family Funeral Home, 216 East 4th, Cherryvale, Kansas 67335, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
