Rita Ann (Serrato) DeLaTorre, 73, of Chanute, Kansas, passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2023. Rita was born on October 22, 1950, in Chanute, Kansas to Alfred and Ruth (Abaloz) Serrato.
Rita attended Chanute Public Schools during her educational years. Following her schooling, she was united in marriage to Lucio DeLaTorre in Chanute, Kansas, they later divorced. Rita worked many years as an Assembler for Kustom Signals in Chanute. She was a loving and caring individual who loved her family. Rita had a passion for dancing and enjoyed attending annual Fiesta events. However, her greatest joy came from creating cherished memories with her loved ones.
Rita is survived by, her son, Mark DeLaTorre of Blue Springs, MO, and daughters, Brenda DeLaTorre (Keith Bockover) of Chanute, KS, and Shannon (Chris) Martin of Gardner, KS. She is also survived by her brother, Johnny Serrato of Independence, MO, and her two grandsons, Derek DeLaTorre and Noah Martin.
Rita was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Gloria Serrato and Connie DeLaGarza, and brothers Richard Serrato and Billy Joe Gutierrez.
In memory of Rita, contributions can be made to St. Patrick's Catholic Church and can be mailed to or left with the funeral home.

The Rosary will be recited on Saturday, December 9. 2023, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church 424 S. Central Ave. Chanute, Kansas, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m.
Burial will follow the Mass at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery.
Services are under the guidance of Wickham Family Funeral Home 500 North Forest Ave. Chanute, KS.
