Mirma Jean Anderson, 87, affectionately known as Jeanie, departed this life on October 22, 2024, at the Neodesha Care and Rehab in Neodesha, Kansas.
She was born on August 3, 1937, in Wichita, Kansas, to Ted Jackson and Ollie (Mondy) Jackson, who have both preceded her in death. Jeannie was a graduate of Fredonia High School in 1956 and continued her education at Independence Community College.
Throughout her career, Jeanie dedicated herself to health care as a Certified Nurse's Aide, Certified Medication Aide, and Home Health Aide, showcasing a profound commitment to the well-being of others. Her kindness and compassion resonated with all those she served.
Jeanie was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in the early 1970's in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She loved sharing her faith in Jehovah God with others.
Jeanie took great joy in her hobbies, which included sewing, cooking, and gardening. These interests not only fulfilled her creatively but also brought warmth and love to her family and friends through her delightful meals and beautifully tended gardens.
Jeanie is survived by her loving daughter, Tamara Betts of Independence, Kansas. She will also be missed by her siblings, including Ted Jackson of Wichita, Kansas, Theron Jackson of Pittsburg, Kansas, Marlon Jackson of Burlingame, Kansas, Nanette Bradley Johnson of Omaha, Nebraska, and LaDonna Martinez of Wichita, Kansas. Jeanie was a proud grandmother to Adrielle, Jordan, Alessandra & Andrea Betts, all residing in Independence, Kansas. Her great-grandchildren Aurora, Ja’Corey, Jaierus Betts, Jamison Gray & Asher Galusha all from Independence, Kansas, also cherish her memory.
Jeanie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald E. Anderson, and her son, Donald K. Anderson. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Bill Jackson, Thomas Jackson, and Jerry Jackson.
A visitation will be held at Wickham Family Funeral Home in Fredonia, Kansas, on Monday, November 4, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at Wickham Family Funeral Home, 510 North 7th, Fredonia, Kansas at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Independence, Kansas.
Memorial remembrances are suggested to Fredonia Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses or Fredonia Arts Council and they may be left or mailed to the funeral home
Jeanie leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and an unwavering dedication to those she cared for. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
