Mina Lou Weston, 72, of Augusta, Kansas, passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

Mina was born on July 11, 1951, in Chanute, Kansas, the daughter of Jack Holcomb and Betty (Ellis) Holcomb.

Mina's gentle spirit and unwavering kindness touched the lives of everyone she encountered. She exemplified the virtues of generosity and love, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of her family and friends.

She was united in marriage on September 7, 1973 to William “Bill” Weston and they were later divorced.

Mina's journey through life was marked by a dedication to learning and personal growth. She graduated from Chanute High School in 1969 and later attended TWA Flight Attendant School. Mina's career path led her to become a tax preparer, a receptionist for Dr. Mendiola, and an active participant in the flea market community. She was also a partner for a truck driving school.

She became a member of St. James Catholic Church after receiving her first communion in 2019. And was a member of the altar society in Augusta, Kansas,

In her leisure time, Mina delighted in pursuing her hobbies, which included creating intricate crafts, exploring flea markets in search of hidden treasures, embarking on enriching travels, and cherishing the precious moments spent with her adored grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memory are her beloved son, Adam Weston of Wichita, Kansas, and significant other, Richard Noeller of Fredonia, Kansas. Mina's siblings, Norman Holcomb of Chanute, Kansas, and Mary Ann Williams of Iola, Kansas, join in mourning the loss of their dear sister. She also leaves behind her three cherished grandchildren, Braydn, Addyson, and Broklyn Weston. Mina's nieces, Ashlee Cummings of Independence, Kansas, and Danika Matters of Kansas City, Missouri, as well as her nephew, Eric Weston of Kansas City, Missouri, and great nieces and nephew hold her close in their hearts.

A time of visitation will be held on Friday, December 29, 2023, from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the Wickham Family Funeral Home, located at 510 North 7th, Fredonia, Kansas. On Saturday, December 30, 2023, at 10:30 A.M., the Rosary will be recited, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fredonia, Kansas with Father Stuart Smeltzer, celebrant.

Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Fredonia.

The family kindly requests contributions be made to Autism Awareness, a cause dear to Mina's heart, as a tribute to her memory and her unwavering compassion for others.

The Wickham Family Funeral Home in Fredonia, Kansas, has been entrusted with the sacred arrangements to honor Mina's life and support her family during this time of loss.
