Milton Jay Vaughn, 62, a resident of Altoona, Kansas, died Tuesday, March 15, 2016 as the result of injuries sustained in a truck driving accident near Huntington, Oregon. He was born December 26, 1953 in Pawnee City, Nebraska, the son of Galen and LaVon (Crosier) Vaughn. He was a 1972 graduate of Humboldt High School in Humboldt, Nebraska. Milton served in the United States Marines 1975-1979, attaining the rank of Sergeant (E-5). He had been an over-the-road truck driver for more than 20 years. In 1999, he joined Savanna Trucking of Topeka, Kansas, and he was currently in his 17th year of driving for Savanna. On October 20, 1995 in Minnesota, he was united in marriage to Daisy Diehl. She survives at their home. Milton"s survivors, in addition to his wife, Daisy, include: His mother: LaVon Vaughn of Pawnee City, NE Children: Brett Vaughn of Colorado Tiffani VanVliet Bonnie Baird of Altoona,KS Brothers: Mike Vaughn of Phoenix, AZ Melvin Vaughn of Hugoton, KS Sisters: Vicki Decker of Amarillo, TX Vonnie Loresen of Omaha, NE 7 Grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren He was preceded in death by his father, Galen Vaughn. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, March 24, 2016 at the Altoona Cemetery with Pastor Jim Raymond of the Verdigris Valley Christian Fellowship officiating. The family will receive friends at Timmons Funeral Home on Wednesday, 5:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. A memorial has been established in Milton"s name with the Verdigris Valley Christian Fellowship and contributions can be sent to or left with Timmons Funeral Home.
