Lucille Elizabeth Doyle

Lucille Elizabeth Doyle, 95, a resident of Fredonia, Kansas, died Sunday, October 4, 2015 at Diversicare of Chanute, Kansas. She was born April 23, 1920 in Kirksville, Adair County, Missouri, the daughter of Lester E. and Lois M. (Harris) Elston. Lucille worked as a secretary for Beech Aircraft Corporation in Wichita for many years, retiring in 1966. On February 1, 1943 in Wichita, Kansas, Lucille was united in marriage to John Chester Huston and he preceded her in death June 10, 1948. On September 14 1958, in Augusta, Kansas, she married Daniel A. Doyle and he preceded her in death in September 22, 1988. Lucille was a faithful member of the Westview Baptist Church in Chanute, where she was also a Sunday school teacher. She was a past matron of the Order of Eastern Star, regent and assistant district director of Daughters of the American Revolution and a board member of the Wilson County Historical Society. She also attended Neosho County Community College Extended Living Classes for senior citizens. Her survivors include: Daughter: Elizabeth L. Rimel of Fredonia, KS Brother: Don Elston of Wichita, KS Sister: Bernice Smith of Kirksville, MO Four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, John E. Huston; stepdaughter, Patricia Sanborn; stepson, Roger Doyle; great granddaughter, Jessica McGee; great grandson, Ethan Rimel; and four siblings. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, October 9, 2015 at Old Mission Cemetery in Wichita, with Pastor Randy Dirrim of the Westview Baptist Church officiating. A memorial has been established in Lucille"s name with the Wilson County Historical Society and contributions can be sent to or left with Timmons Funeral Home.
