Lois M. Meeker-Toney

Lois M. Meeker-Toney, 77, of Cherryvale, Kansas passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at the Cherryvale Nursing and Rehab Center in Cherryvale.

Lois Marie Meeker-Toney was born July 24, 1940 in Picher, Oklahoma the daughter of Robert Leahew and Molly (Hopkins) Leahew. She grew up in California and graduated from Cupertino High School. She also attended college in San Jose, California.

She moved to Cherryvale in 1979 and was later married to Lee Toney.

Lois worked as a bookkeeper, bartender, waitress and cook. She was always working.

She loved animals and enjoyed being ornery to Lee and her family all the time.

Lois was a member of the Eagles Club in Cherryvale.

Survivors include Lee of the home, children, William Meeker of Scottsdale, Arizona, Pam Graninger of Cherryvale, Kansas, siblings, Judy Bruhn of Liberty, Kansas, Terry Stewart of Manhattan, Kansas, 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter Cathy St. Clair.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., Sunday, February 18, 2018 at Wickham Family Funeral Home, 216 East 4th, Cherryvale, Kansas 67335.

Cremation will follow after visitation and a private family service will be held at a later date.
Memorial remembrances are suggested to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and they may be left or mailed to the funeral home.
