Larry T. Henderson

December 11, 1942 — March 11, 2026

Fall River, Kansas

Larry T. Henderson, passed away peacefully at home on March 11, 2026, at the age of 83.

Larry was born on December 11, 1942, in Wichita, Kansas. He was a quiet, thoughtful man who moved through the world with a gentle steadiness. Though naturally introverted and slow to open up, the friendships he formed were deep, loyal, and lasting.

A dedicated professional, Larry built his career as a sheet metal mechanic for Local 29 and devoted 18 years of service to Hemco Plumbing and Heating. His hands, skilled and purposeful, crafted not just metal, but a legacy of craftsmanship and hard work that inspires those who followed in his footsteps. He was proud of his craft, and it was through this labor that he provided for his family.

Larry attended East High votech in Wichita through 1960, a formative chapter that set the course for a life filled with adventure and service. His commitment to his country saw him enlist in the Navy, where he served as a seabee from October 3, 1961, to September 9, 1963. The discipline and camaraderie he experienced during those years shaped his character, instilling a deep sense of loyalty to country.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Larry was a passionate collector of guns, he found excitement in the stories and history surrounding each piece. He had a love for reading about history, but it had to be accurate. He also had a love for cooking and knew his spices and enjoyed sharing his culinary ability at large family gatherings, which he loved.

Larry leaves behind a loving family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Esther F. Riggs. His legacy lives on through his children: Mia L. Hamblin, Shawn Cherry, Kelly Westerman, Romy Goodman, Jarrod Tanner, Erin Henderson, and Travis Tanner. Moreover, he cherished 19 grandchildren and over 30 great-grandchildren, each one holding a piece of his heart.

He was preceded in death by his son, Kevin Michael Henderson, his father, John Thomas Henderson; his mother, Eva Bea Greenfield Henderson; and his sister, Nancy Conley, who now embrace him in eternal rest.
