Larry A. Gibson

Larry A. “Hoot” Gibson, 80, of Cherryvale, Kansas passed away Monday, April 3, 2023, at his home in Cherryvale, Kansas.

Larry A. Gibson was born September 11, 1942, in Independence, Kansas, the son of Edward Lauren Gibson and Goldie Marie (Burns) Gibson.

He attended and graduated from Independence High School in 1960.

His first job was being a paper boy for the Independence Daily Reporter. He later worked as a Fiberglass tooler for ThermoVac in Chanute, Kansas, Starcraft in Independence, Kansas, Nu Way in Chanute, Kansas, Charloma in Cherryvale, Kansas.

Larry Enjoyed riding motorcycles and cherished his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Diane Gibson, his children, Cynthia Daughtery of Raymore, Missouri, Kenneth (SueAnn) White of Coffeyville, Kansas, Shannon Shadley of Wichita, Kansas, Stephen (Sonya) White of Gurley, Alabama, Katherine (Bert) Merrick of Cherryvale, Kansas, Matthew (Sara) Gibson of Coffeyville, Kansas, grandchildren, Tiffany (Ryan) Christenson, Megan (Michael) Graham, Andre (Collene) White, Stephen White, Sophia White, MacKenzie White and Brady White, Darby and Quintin Kramer, Kiersten Kramer, Aydon and Nevaeh Triplett, Miracle Slaska, Lily Merrick, Solamon Gibson, great grandchildren, Remington Goudy, Mason Christenson, Kanon Graham, Braelyn and Zade Moore, Kennedy and Nate White.

He was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Goldie Gibson, sisters, Jeanne McGurk, Gloria Gibson, daughter, Petrina White, son, Larry Allan Gibson Jr., granddaughter, Rhiannon Goudy.

Celebration of Life Services will be held 10:30 A.M., Friday, April 28, 2023, at Wickham Family Funeral Home of Cherryvale.
