Karen Jean Ratzlaff

Karen Jean Ratzlaff, 88, of Newton, Kansas, passed away Sunday, May 11, 2025, at Newton Presbyterian Manor. She was born on November 10, 1936, in Fredonia, Kansas, to Eddie V. and Lois I. (Hare) Spaht.

Karen graduated from Lafontaine Schools in 1954.

She was united in marriage to Marvin K. Ratzlaff on April 20, 1958, in Fredonia Kansas. He preceded her in death on November 5, 2023, after 65 years of marriage.

She owned and operated McPherson Health Foods in McPherson, KS.

Karen is survived by her children, Dallas (Elda) Ratzlaff of Galva, Marva (Tim) Curtis of Moundridge, Brad (Wendy) Ratzlaff of Olathe, and Chanin (Mark) Korte of Olathe; eight grandchildren, Yander, Jory, Heath, Courtney, Mariah, Tanner, Matthew and Megan and eight great-grandchildren, Addis, Elise, Eustis, Rose, Judson, Ivan, Miles and baby Stiebens (on the way). One sister, Doris McGregor of Rogers, AR.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers and three sisters.

Family will greet friends from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., Saturday, May 17, 2025, at the Wickham Funeral Home, Fredonia, with a funeral service to follow at 12 p.m. Burial will take place at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Fredonia, KS. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Newton Presbyterian Manor or Good Shepherd Hospice in care of Wickham Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 510 N 7th St, Fredonia, KS 66736.
