Julia Raye Menzer passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at River's Edge Senior Living in Oswego, Kansas. She was born on September 11, 1946, in Eureka, Kansas.
She attended high school in Ellis, Kansas, and later earned her GED. Throughout her working years, she held several positions, including working as a parts delivery person for Independence Automotive. Most recently, Julia found fulfillment working as a caregiver, a role she continued until her declining health no longer allowed her to work.
She was united in marriage to John Armbruster in Ellis, Kansas, in 1963. They later divorced. On February 20, 1979, Julia married Alan "Buck" Menzer in Miami, Oklahoma. They shared their lives together until Buck's passing February 1, 2020, and Julia is now lovingly reunited with him.
Julia enjoyed the simple things that brought her happiness. She loved feeding deer and watching wildlife, had a special love for dogs, and enjoyed golfing. Above all, she treasured spending time with her family and making memories with those she loved.
Julia will be remembered with love by her family and all who knew her. She is survived by her sons, James Armbruster and his wife, Tori, of Cherryvale, and Kelly Armbruster and his wife, Pam, of Cherryvale. She also leaves her grandsons, Levi Armbruster and his wife, Linsy, and Cole Armbruster and his wife, Marissa. Her memory will continue through her great-grandchildren, Breckyn Armbruster, Majer Armbruster, and Scottie James Armbruster. She is also survived by her brother Jim Lahar of Celeste, Texas and brother-in-law, Darrell Armbruster of Ellis, Kansas.
She was preceded in death by; her sister, Judy Armbuster; and her parents, James and Maragret Lahar.
Julia’s life was centered on the love of family, and her memory will remain a treasured part of the lives she touched. May those who knew her find comfort in the love she shared and in the family who carry her memory forward.
Cremation has taken place at Wickham Family Funeral Home in Cherryvale, Kansas. Services will be held at a later date.
The family wishes to thank the nurses and aides at River's Edge and Harry Hynes Hospice who gave such WONDERFUL care to Julia during her time at the home
