Joyce Cramer Lucke, born October 31, 1946, passed away on October 26, 2024, at the age of 77, just days shy of her 78th birthday. Daughter of Wilda Loree (Clay) Cramer and Ray (Robert) Cramer. Joyce attended Neosho County Community College, where she was involved in the choir and formed lasting friendships. She worked as a manager at Phillips Manufacturing and later she worked at Walmart in crafts and then in the bakery where she devoted many years before retiring.
Joyce dedicated herself to running a daycare, where she cared for each child with compassion and commitment. She enjoyed bowling with her local league as well as camping, a pastime she often shared with her husband, Joe Lucke, who preceded her in death in June 2024.
Joyce is survived by her two stepdaughters, Sheryl (Shery) Wheatley of Chanute, Kansas, Shelie McKelvey of Delano Tennessee, and her stepson, Joseph Lucke of Chanute, Kansas. Joyce also leaves behind two step-grandchildren: Matthew Thomas and Mikayla Kennedy; as well as one step great-grandchild Juniper Jean (JJ) Thomas.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ray and Wilda Cramer and a step-granddaughter, Reece Kennedy.
She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Memorials are suggested to the City of Chanute Animal Shelter and can be left with or mailed to Wickham Family Funeral Home at 500 North Forest Ave. Chanute, KS 66720.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held Saturday, November 9, 2024, at Chanute Nazarene Church, 1313 W 14th Street, Chanute, KS 66720
