Johnny “John” Darrel Lockhart, 76, of Fredonia, Kansas passed away, August 25, 2021 at his home. John was born August 2, 1945 in Forum, Arkansas to George Howard and Esther Loretta (Todd) Myers. John was later adopted and raised by Royce P. Lockhart when his mother remarried.

John was united in marriage to Brenda Kay (Troutman) Lockhart on July 3, 1965 in Altoona, Kansas. They were married 53 years until her death on February 20, 2019.

John worked at Ladow & Spohn for several years, but his real passion was being in Law Enforcement. He served as a Wilson County Correctional Officer and as a Reserve Deputy. John was a member of the Benedict Masonic Lodge, enjoyed fishing, hunting, Facebook, roping, watching westerns, watching baseball, rodeo and loved the Colorado mountains.

John is survived by his daughter, Shelly Jean (Danny) Voth, Liberty, Kansas, brothers; Howard Lockhart, Buffalo, Kansas, David Lockhart, Neosho Falls, Kansas, sister; Sue Ann Costin, Altoona, Kansas, grandchildren; Taylor K. Anderson, Chanute, Kansas, Jedidiah “Cade” Voth, Liberty, Kansas and great-grandson, Xevan Khaine Reynolds, Chanute, Kansas.

In addition to his wife, Brenda, John was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Kimberly Kay (Lockhart) Anderson, brother, Robert Lockhart, and nephew, Adrian Lockhart
