JODI LEA BROWNJodi L. Brown, 54, of Mound Valley, Kansas passed away early Tuesday morning at Labette Health in Parsons, Kansas.Jodi Lea Brown was born February 18, 1961 in Chanute, Kansas the daughter of Henry Ford and Jeanette (Johnson) Ford. She grew up in Chanute and graduated from Chanute High School in 1979. After graduating she attended Labette Community College and received her associate degree in Computer Technology. She was also a member of Phi Theta Kappa.She is survived by her forever companion of 16 years Mark Thompson.Jodi was currently employed as a bus driver for Unified School District #506. She was also a cosmetologist for over 22 years and served as Mayor of Mound Valley from 2001 to 2004.She was a strong willed and caring woman who enjoyed"spending time with her two"grandchildren, gardening, computer games, and loved cats.Survivors include, mother, Jeanette Whiteacre of Mound Valley, Kansas, two daughters, Christina Gibbons of Lincoln, Nebraska, Nichole Gibbons of Parsons, Kansas, sister, Julie Hucke of Mound Valley, Kansas, brother, Kevin Ford of Jefferson, Kansas, two grandchildren Jaxon Gibbons and Terrell Gibbons of Parsons, Kansas.Cremation has taken place with private family memorial services held at a later date.Memorial remembrances are suggested to the Gibbons Education Fund and they may be mailed or left at Wickham Family Funeral Home, 216 East 4th, Cherryvale, Kansas 67335.
