Jerry Lee May

Jerry Lee May, 81, a resident of rural Fredonia, Kansas, formerly of Wichita, Kansas, died Friday, February 19, 2016 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. He was born December 11, 1934 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, the son of Charles Edward and Clytia (Hawks) May. Jerry was a graduate of North High School in Wichita and attended Friends University. He owned and operated A-May-Zing Pest Control for many years, retiring in 1999. On July 31, 1980, he was united in marriage to Mary Ann Henson. She survives at their home. Jerry was a Past Master of Woodson Lodge #121 in Toronto; Midian Shrine in Wichita; Toronto American Legion; and Past Worthy Patron of Order of the Eastern Star-Goldenstar Chapter in Toronto and also a member of Goldenrod Chapter in Yates Center. He had also served as a Grand Page at the Grand Chapter of Kansas. Jerry"s survivors, in addition to his wife, Mary Ann, include: Son: Rodney May of Puerto Rico Step-Sons: David R. Fey of Wichita, KS Russell D. Fey of Wichita, KS William A. "Billy" Fey of Wichita, KS 4 Grandchildren: Nathanael Vance May, Jacob Wendel, Chance Fey and Paxton Fey. 2 great grandchildren He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Jeffrey Scott May; and one grandson, Erik May. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 P.M., Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at Carlisle Cemetery, located on the south side of Toronto Lake, with Pastor Kevin Lawrence of the Toronto United Methodist Church officiating. Masonic Rites and Military Rites will be performed. The family will receive friends at Timmons Funeral Home on Monday, 5:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. Memorials have been established in Jerry"s name with the Woodson Lodge #121 and the Toronto American Legion, and contributions can be sent to or left with Timmons Funeral Home. Words of condolence may be left on this website. Timmons Funeral Home, PO Box 168, Fredonia, KS 66736 is in charge of the arrangements.
