Jeannine Strack passed away on September 4th, 2026, in Kansas City at St. Luke's Hospice House.

Jeannine Joy Strack was born on May 31st, 1937, in Chanute, KS, to Leslie Crumrine and Carol (Thompson) Crumrine.

Jeannine attended Chanute schools, graduating in 1956. She was in the F.B.LA. F.H.A and Glee Clubs. After graduating, she married Dean Strack on Nov. 11th 1956.

Once Dean was drafted into the army, she followed him to Fort Ord, Calif and later to Anchorage, Alaska, where she worked in a Mode O’ Day store while Dean served in the army.

After returning to Chanute, she raised two children while working for the school system as a cook and later at the Photo Hut. Some of her hobbies included stamp collecting, cooking & canning, sewing, photography, and square dancing. Jeannine was also an active member of the church for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Dean. She is survived by her son Larry and his wife Becky. Daughter Nancy, and four grandchildren.

There will be a visitation at the Wickham Family Funeral Home, 500 North Forest Ave. Chanute, Kansas, on September 10th from 10:00 am to 11:30 am.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St Luke’s Hospice House.
