Helen Louise Weese

Helen Louise Weese, age 75, of Chanute, Kansas, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2024, at Heritage Health Care, surrounded by her loved ones. Helen was born on October 4, 1949, in Chanute, Kansas the daughter of Donald and Effie (Sparks) Cornell,

 Helen's vibrant spirit and dedication to her family will be profoundly missed by all who knew her. Helen was known for her gypsy soul. Through her love of traveling and moving to unique places, she made many friends, which she came by easily with her warm personality.

 Helen was an alumnus of Chanute Schools and a member of the American Legion post #170 of Chanute, Kansas. Helen was known for her bright, bubbly, and fun-loving nature. She embraced life wholeheartedly, relishing in the joys of friendship, family, and her passion for unique hats. Her love of scrapbooking also stood out, as she cherished the stories behind each photograph.

 Helen is survived by her loving daughters, Traci (Eric) Barker and Mindy Weese, both of Chanute, Kansas. She cherished her grandchildren: Brittany and her husband Jeremiah, Michael and his wife Sarah, Erica and her husband Dalton, Dylan and his wife Tyrah, and Chloe. Adding to her joy, she was blessed with great-grandchildren: Cha'Kyra, Ava, Kendall, Cadence, Nate, and Kace.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Donna Cornell and Velma Haines. 

 Helen's legacy of love, laughter, and resilience will live on through her family and friends, reminding us all to embrace life and cherish every moment.

 Visitation will be held on October 28, 2024, from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM, followed by a memorial service at 10:30 AM at Wickham Family Funeral Home 500 North Forest Ave. Chanute, Kansas. A Private Family Burial will be held at Elmwood Cemetery, Chanute, Kansas. 

 Memorials are suggested to Neosho County Relay for Life and can be left with or mailed to the funeral home. 

 She leaves behind a legacy of happiness and a reminder to always celebrate life's precious moments.
