Estella Ann Bauman

Estella Ann "Stell" (Schneider) Bauman, a longtime resident of Fredonia, Kansas died Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at Golden Living Center in Neodesha. She was born March 8, 1919 in Ost, Kansas, one of six children to John and Mary (Bugner) Schneider. She was baptized at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ost. On April 27, 1940 at the Sacred Heart Church in Fredonia, Stell was united in marriage to Leland E. Bauman. He preceded her in death August 6, 1988. Stell worked for 25 years for USD 484 Food Service. She had also been employed by J.C. Penney"s and Dryer"s Shoe Store in Fredonia and worked tirelessly on the family farm. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Church, Sacred Heart Altar Society and the Fredonia Country Club. She loved her church and her family, with a special love for her grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, poetry and music. She discovered golf and seemed to get a great deal of pleasure chasing after that little white ball. We celebrate her life with the memories we have and pray for her soul to be at rest with God. Stell"s survivors include: Daughters: Mary Jane (Richard) Farnsworth of Goddard, KS Shirley (Jim) Tabor of Choctaw, OK Betty Jo (Steve) Ritz of Fredonia, KS Son: Larry (Becky) Bauman of Fredonia, KS Brother: Paul Schneider of Haysville, KS Eleven grandchildren: Christina (Ron) Fesler, Mark Bauman, Melanie Ritz, Stephanie Ritz, Sean Ritz, Michelle Nisbett, Nicole Armitage. Danny (Jennifer) Farnsworth, Cathy (Mark) Furnish, Carol Farnsworth, Jason Farnsworth. Eleven great grandchildren: Dylan Bauman, Blake and Delaney Nisbett, Madison, Kristen, Haleigh, Emily & Josh Farnsworth. Tori Fitzmorris. Drew and Samantha Furnish. Her parents; son, Wayne Bauman; brothers, Wendell, Emil and John Schneider Jr; sister, Eleanora Stevens and granddaughters, Deanna Bauman and Stacy Lynn Farnsworth also preceded her in death. Rosary will be said at 9:30 A.M. followed by Mass at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, September 22, 2014 with Father Stephen Thapwa officiating. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. A memorial has been established in Stell"s name with Alzheimer"s Association and contributions can be sent to or left with Timmons Funeral Home. Words of condolence may be left on this website.
