Donna McGlasson, passed away on Monday January 26, 2026, at Parsons Presbyterian Manor. Born on May 2, 1943, in Coffeyville, Kansas, to Joe and Bette (Root) Brown, Donna lived a life dedicated to serving others and nurturing the hearts of those around her.
A proud graduate of Wayside High School in Wayside, Kansas, Class of 1961, Donna pursued a career that would allow her to impact many lives. She obtained her Adult Care Home Administration License in February of 1985, which empowered her to consult in numerous healthcare facilities throughout her professional journey. Her commitment to excellence in care was evident in every endeavor she undertook.
Donna was an active member of the Christian Church, having been baptized as a believer in the Lord, Jesus Christ. Her faith was a guiding force in her life, instilling in her a sense of peace and comfort that she eagerly shared with her family and friends. She had a profound love for Gaither music, which filled her heart and home with joy.
She cherished the moments spent with her children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, who affectionately referred to her as Nan or Aunt Dee. The memories created with her family were filled with laughter and love, from crafting together to playful afternoons spent blowing bubbles with her homemade bubble blowers. These experiences remain treasured by her children and grandchildren as they reflect on the joyful times they shared.
Donna is survived by her children, Greggory Kelly of Parsons, Kansas, and Buffi (Mark) Rice of Chetopa, Kansas. She leaves behind her siblings, JoLynne Abbott of Oswego, Kansas, and Cheryl (Rick) Valverde of Cherryvale, Kansas, as well as a sister-in-law, MariJo Brown of Webb City. Longtime friends Billy Allred and Larry Kavanaugh also hold her memory close. Donna was a proud grandmother to Benjamine (Tara) Kelly of Norristown, PA, Jonathan (Elizabeth) Kelly of Parsons, KS, Mitchell (Caroline) Kelly of Columbus, OH, Emily Kelly of Swedesboro, NJ, Logan (Alisa) Zeferjahn of Baton Rouge, LA, Shelby Zeferjahn of Topeka, KS, Myranda (Rowan) Froggatte of Lawrence, KS, Kendra Rice of Oswego, KS, and Shane Rice of Parsons, KS, as well as 10 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her son, Jeffrey Kelly; her parents, Joe and Bette (Root) Brown; and her brother, David Brown.
Throughout her life, Donna's jobs took her to many places and many different homes. Now she's in her eternal home with Jesus....and she didn't even have to pack!
