Donald V. Parsons, born on March 9, 1934, in Independence, Kansas, passed away on Monday September 8, 2025, at Sandpiper Healthcare and Rehab. He was a beloved father, sibling, and friend who left a lasting legacy through his dedicated career and personal passions.
Donald proudly served the aerospace industry at Boeing for over 42 years as a general mechanic on military and commercial airplanes, contributing his talents and skills until his retirement.
A graduate of Fredonia High School, Class of 1952, Donald's accomplishments were not confined to his career alone. He was known for his many hobbies and interests, particularly woodworking, which showcased his creativity and craftsmanship. In addition, Donald enjoyed traveling. He was also affectionately recognized as "a fix-it man" around the house, demonstrating his resourcefulness and willingness to help his family and friends.
Donald is survived by his three loving children: sons Allen Parsons of Kansas City, Missouri, and Donald Parsons of Wichita, as well as his daughter Valerie Caster of Cheney. He is also remembered by his siblings, Phyllis Penezi and Carol Williams, who cherished his presence in their lives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vern and Mafrey Clifton Parsons, and daughter Beverly. Donald’s memory will live on through the lives he touched and the legacy he created for future generations. His contributions to family and community remain a testament to the kind of man he was compassionate, talented, and dedicated.
