Danin James Mauro Borjas, born on August 21, 1989, in Chanute, Kansas, to Timothy and Lisa (Lopez) Borjas, passed away unexpectedly on November 18, 2025, in Chanute. He leaves behind a rich legacy of kindness, creativity, and dedication that touched the lives of many.
A graduate of Chanute Senior High, Danin celebrated his graduation as a member of the class of 2007. He furthered his education at Neosho County Community College, gaining knowledge that complemented his practical skills. Throughout his life, he was known for his gentle spirit, always ready to lend a hand to those in need—whether by fixing a household item, listening to a friend, or simply being there for someone who needed support. Danin was united in marriage to Amanda (Turner) Borjas and later divorced.
He was a jack-of-all-trades, proudly working as a self-employed handyman who could conquer any task that lay before him. His skills and work ethic were recently showcased during his employment with Irishman Excavating and Trucking.
One of Danin's greatest joys was his family. Danin and Raina would spend countless hours practicing softball together, and Danin made it a priority to attend all her events, beaming with pride as he watched her flourish. He also embraced fatherhood with his son, Cruz, and his mother, April Moore, and he eagerly anticipated welcoming his unborn son with his significant other, Jenny Martin.
Danin’s artistic talents were as varied as his interests. During his school years, he developed a passion for playing high school football, which laid the foundation for a lifelong love of sports. In his adult years, he enjoyed riding motorcycles, playing golf, fishing, and exploring music by teaching himself to play various instruments and even composing songs. His artistic nature also shone through in the kitchen; he was well-known for baking and cooking, often creating elaborate birthday cakes and a multitude of delightful treats that brought smiles to faces around him. Laughter accompanied Danin wherever he went; his comedic spirit frequently had others in stitches, making him a cherished friend and family member. His presence was one of warmth and encouragement, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Danin is survived by his devoted parents, Tim and Lisa Borjas of Chanute, KS, his children, Raina and Cruz, his significant other Jenny Martin, and their unborn son, his Brothers Jason (Brian Rosetti) Borjas of Mission, KS, and Jarret (Madison Perez) Borjas of Chanute, KS, his Grandmother Linda Lopez of Chanute, KS, and his Uncle Robert and Aunt Laura Lopez, of Neodesha, KS.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Aurora Borjas, his Grandfather Henry Lopez, his Uncle John Lee Borjas, and his Uncle Monico (Nacho) and Aunt Maria (Connie) Melendez.
Danin James Mauro Borjas will always be remembered for his loving nature, indomitable spirit, and the joy he brought into the lives of others.
