Damon Orville White, 84, passed away Wednesday, April 22nd, 2026, at his home in rural Fredonia, Kansas. He was born March 13, 1942, in Independence, Kansas, to William Orville White and Mary Elizabeth (Hanlon) White.

Damon developed a deep love for horses early in life becoming a skilled farrier, horse trainer, roper and rancher. He loved being outside working diligently to care for the animals he raised or purchased and maintaining the land. Damon was known for training and selling high quality horses, especially for team roping. On September 17, 1982, introduced by a mutual friend, he met Terry Countryman which evolved into Countryman/White Cattle Company. Later in life, Damon loved to fish calling it “time well spent” with family and friends.

Damon was a member of the Buxton Christian Church and the United States Team Roping Championships (USTRC).

The family wishes to thank Kyla McCabe, Hudson McCabe and granddaughter, Kelsey Wyant, for their loving companionship and care of Damon as his failing health impeded everyday life.

Damon is survived by his loving soulmate, Terry Countryman, of the home; one sister, Beverly Hight, of Coffeyville, Kansas; three daughters, Nancy Wyant (Craig) of Caney, Kansas, Beth White of Bella Vista, Arkansas and Becky Lemos of Coffeyville, Kansas; nine grandchildren Clayton Wyant (Jennifer), Lacy Sestak (Joshua), Elizabeth Wyant, Samantha Paulsen, Tyler Wyant (Madison), Sydney Brandecker (George), Jordan Lemos, Kelsey Wyant and Jenna Wasson; fifteen great-grandchildren; Terry's Sister, Ginger Countryman of Dalton, Georgia; bonus sons, Mark Ward of Fall River, Kansas, Troy Batson of Scurry, Texas; bonus daughter, Kyla McCabe of Fredonia, Kansas; bonus grandson, Hudson McCabe of Fredonia, Kansas; and bonus nephew, Jeff Garner of Fredonia, Kansas, who always took the time to visit, go to lunch and go fishing.

Damon was proceeded in death by his parents, identical twin brother and lifelong best friend, Ramon, and siblings, Bob White, Mary June Null, Don White and David White.

A private graveside service will be held, per Damon’s wishes.
