Corine May (Lockridge) Holt, of Cherryvale, Kansas passed away on Monday April 20, 2026, at Labette Health in Parsons, Kansas
She was born on December 10, 1944, in Uniontown, Kansas, the daughter of John and Nellie (Hartman) Lockridge. Corine was a proud graduate of the Class of 1962 from Uniontown, Kansas High School.
Throughout her life, Corine demonstrated a steadfast commitment to her work, serving as a cook at Pizza Hut, Pete’s, and within the Cherryvale/Thayer School District. Her presence in these kitchens was marked not only by her skill and dedication but also by the warmth and kindness she extended to those around her.
Corine’s interests beyond her professional pursuits were equally heartfelt. She found joy and solace in crosswords and reading.
She leaves behind her son, Doug Holt of Cherryvale, Kansas. Corine was blessed with the companionship of her special friend, Jeannie Winkleman of Pittsburg, Kansas, who shared many moments of friendship and support. She is also survived by her siblings Waneta O'Dell of Platte City, Missouri; Betty Hunt of Parsons, Kansas; and John and Sue Lockridge of Lamar, Missouri, along with many nieces and nephews who will continue to honor her memory through their lives.
Corine was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jerry Earl Holt; her parents, John and Nellie (Hartman) Lockridge; Mary Lou Sanders; as well as two nieces and a great nephew. Their memories remain a treasured part of her life story.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday April 28, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Wickham Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cherryvale, Kansas, located at 216 E 4th Street. A Celebration of Life will follow from 11:00 AM at the same location, offering family and friends an opportunity to share stories, laughter, and memories. The day’s services will conclude with burial at Fairview Cemetery, South Olive Street, Cherryvale.
Corine’s life was marked by dedication to her craft, deep love for her family, and a gentle spirit that will be fondly remembered by all who knew her. Her legacy endures in the hearts of those she touched and the community she enriched with her presence.
