Carolyn Lee (Cooper) Hedges passed away on Friday, June 26, 2026, at her home. Born on April 4, 1964, in Auburn, New York, Carolyn lived a life defined by devotion and love touching the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her. Carolyn worked many years as a CNA, she loved her job and worked in several different nursing homes in the area.
Carolyn was the cherished wife of Jim Hedges, 30+ years. They married on July 1, 1996, in rural Elk City, Kansas, creating a home where family came first. Carolyn’s nurturing spirit shone through the way she raised her children and embraced life’s joys and challenges with loved ones. She was a good mom to everyone; stern but caring and loving.
A devoted mother to Jamie Sepko, Austin Hedges, and Dakota Hedges, Carolyn embraced motherhood with patience, and boundless love, guiding her children with kindness and gentle wisdom. Her presence as a mother left a profound legacy that will continue to inspire them.
Her greatest delight was the role of grandmother to Isaiah Pate, Liam Hedges, Obed Hedges, Weston Hedges, Arianna Sepko, and Mathieu Sepko, and great-grandmother to Colton Eddy.
Carolyn enjoyed auctions, coloring, and country rides. She collected purses, writing pens, elephants, unicorns, and angels.
She was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Janice Cooper, her brother Billy Cooper, and sister Bonnie Cooper. She also joins her grandparents Dorothea Seamans and Lee Cooper in peaceful rest.
Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Carolyn’s life at a Celebration of Life service on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Church of the Nazarene, 407 S. Lincoln St. Elk City Kansas 67344.
Carolyn Lee Hedges will be remembered for her unconditional love, deep family devotion, and the generosity of her spirit. Her memory is a precious gift, continuing to illuminate the lives of her family and friends. She will be greatly missed, yet her legacy lives on through all who were blessed to have known her.
All are welcome to join the family at Jim's house following Carolyn's celebration of life.
