Carol (ELAINE) Kessler

Carol (ELAINE) Kessler, 79, of Cherryvale, Kansas passed away Thursday, June 11, 2026, at her home with family by her side.

Elaine Kessler was born on December 27, 1946, in Humboldt, Kansas the daughter of Loren Elleman and Anna Rose (Simpson) Elleman. She grew up in Humboldt and graduated from Humboldt High School in 1964.

On November 6, 1965, in Humboldt, she was united in marriage to Gary Kessler, and he survives at the home.

Elaine was employed when she was younger at Lees Sewing in Cherryvale and Birdview in Chanute. She also worked for Gragg Cabinet Company, Jim Gill Agency and retired from Amazon.

She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, quilting and bowling. She also loved to attend all her kids and grandkids activities.

She was a member of the Cherryvale School Board for 10 Years.

Elaine is survived by her husband Gary of the home, children, Tamara (Jim) Blaes of Cherryvale, Todd Kessler of Cherryvale, bonus daughter, Brandy Kessler of Cherryvale, siblings, Louise Furnas of Coffeyville, Kansas, Tim (Vicki) Elleman of Benedict, Kansas, grandchildren, Riley Kessler, DJ Kessler, Dalton (Jazze) Hestand-Vail, Kylie Seely, Zoey Kessler and great grandchild, Oslo Vail. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Hollye Elleman-Miles, Dani Elleman, Alicia Elleman, Ryan Furnas, and Susan (Josh) Lockwood.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A Celebration of Life for Elaine will be held at Wickham Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Cherryvale from 5 PM until 7 PM Wednesday, June 17, 2026. The family will hold a time of sharing and remembrance at 6:30 PM.

Interment will be held at a later date at Fairview Cemetery in Cherryvale.

Memorial remembrances are suggested to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, and they may be left or mailed to Wickham Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 216 East 4th, Cherryvale, Kansas 67335.
