On April 21, 2024, the world lost a beloved soul, Carol Beth Ingraham, of Chanute, Kansas. She was born on August 9, 1939, in Carlyle, Kansas, to James Lewis Applegate and Mary Frances (Sponsler) Applegate. Carol was a graduate of Iola High School in 1957, and Iola Jr. College. She was united in marriage to the late Larry Lee Ingraham on May 8, 1962, in Iola, Kansas, they were later divorced. 
 
Throughout her life, Carol dedicated herself to the noble profession of housekeeping at Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center, where she touched the lives of many with her kindness and care. Her unwavering commitment to her work was truly admirable.
 
Described by those who knew her best as kind and caring, Carol will be remembered for her love for her family. She had a talent for seamlessly juggling daily tasks, and work commitments, cooking delicious meals, and ensuring her family's needs were always met. However, it was the time spent with her grandchildren that brought her the greatest joy.
 
Carol is survived by her children: Howard Ingraham of Solomon, Kansas; Larry W. Ingraham and Leigh Ann Haviland of Chanute, Kansas. She is also survived by her siblings: Shirley Strahl, Evva (Bob) Irwin, Eva (Denny) Tatum, Martha Waugh, and Joe (Stephanie) Applegate. Additionally, she leaves behind 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren who brought immense happiness to her life.
 
 
A Memorial Service to honor and celebrate Carol's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on April 24, 2024, at First Christian Church located at 102 North Grant Avenue in Chanute, Kansas.

Carol is preceded in death by her parents and brother John Applegate. 

Memorials in Carol’s Honor can be made to First Christian Church and can be left with or mailed to the funeral home. 

Services are under the guidance of Wickham Family Funeral Home 500 North Forest Ave. Chanute, Kansas 66720
