Bruce Wayne Seybold, 68, passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at the Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center in Chanute, Kansas. He was born on June 17, 1957, in Chanute, Kansas, to William Alfred “Al” and Mary Jayne (Dassow) Seybold. 

A dedicated Electronics Technician for Kustom Signals, Bruce's professional life reflected his commitment and skill in his field. He graduated from Yates Center High School in 1975 and furthered his education at Independence Community College.

Bruce will be remembered for the warmth of his spirit and his deep Christian faith. He enjoyed sharing his passion for music by singing in a Gospel group that traveled to various churches, where he spread God's word through song. His laid-back demeanor earned him the affectionate nickname of "Big Teddy Bear," a testament to his gentle and approachable nature. 

In addition to his musical talents, Bruce had a wealth of hobbies that brought him joy. He was an accomplished woodworker, engaged in black powder rendezvous, enjoyed photography, and cherished his time spent gardening. These pursuits showcased his creativity and love for the outdoors, as well as his desire to craft and create beautiful things. 

Bruce is survived by his wife, Barbara (Webber) Seybold, and his daughter, Sarah (Steve) Cunningham of Chanute, Kansas. He took great pride in his family, which also includes his grandson, Noah Cunningham of Chanute, Kansas, his sibling, Darcus Kottwitz of Iola, Kansas, his “twin” Ed (Charlotte) Stout of Chanute, Kansas, and his niece, Marchelle (Kelly) Shaffer, along with several great nephews and nieces who will carry on his legacy of love and kindness. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, Nathan "Nate" Cunningham, and a brother-in-law, Don Kottwitz. 

Bruce's memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched with his generosity, music, and unwavering faith. Memorials are suggested to Love Big Like Nate Inc. or First Christian Church of Chanute, KS, and can be left with or mailed to Wickham Family Funeral Home, Chanute, KS.

 A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held Saturday, June 28, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at First Christian Church, 102 North Grant, Chanute, KS. Dress is casual. 

A private family burial will take place at Yates Center Cemetery. Services are under the personal care of Wickham Family Funeral Home, 500 North Forest Ave. Chanutr, KS. 66720
