Brody David Scott Brown, 4 years old of Chanute, Kansas, departed this life peacefully on August 1, 2025, at Children's Mercy Hospital, cradled in the loving arms of his mother, Arin, surrounded by family.
He was born to Arin (Clark) Roecker on September 8, 2020, in Kansas City, Missouri.
Brody was a remarkable little boy whose vibrant personality left an enduring impression on all who knew him. He was described as a calm yet spirited individual, possessing a charm that captivated not only family but also the dedicated nurses who provided for him during his lengthy stays at Children's Mercy. From the moment he entered this world, he demonstrated an innate ability to light up any room, captivating hearts with his ornery spirit and infectious joy.
Throughout his young life, Brody developed an impressive array of passions, enjoying the playful company of beloved characters like those from Bluey and Paw Patrol. His love for music and books enriched his days, illustrating a spirit full of curiosity and delight. However, it was his deep bond with his brother, Joseph, and sister, Rhylee, that truly defined his world.
Brody's health journey was marked by tremendous bravery and resilience. For the first two and a half years, he spent considerable time receiving care at Children's Mercy Hospital, where he formed significant connections with those who cared for him. Following this period, he had the joyous opportunity to return home with his mother, a milestone that filled his family with hope and gratitude. Sadly, due to ongoing medical challenges, Brody reentered Children's Mercy, where he remained for the last 11 months of his life.
Brody is survived by his loving mother, Arin, and his siblings, Rhylee and Joseph, both of Chanute, Kansas. He also leaves to cherish his memory his devoted grandparents, Tootie and (David) Starr, and David (Jennifer) Clark, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins
His departure is deeply felt by his family and friends, who will forever remember his fiery spirit and boundless love.
Brody is preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Roy and Della Brown, and Melvin and Anne Clark, who have welcomed him into their eternal embrace.
In honoring Brody's memory, we reflect on the joy he brought into this world and the lives he touched. His legacy of love, laughter, and pure charisma will continue to resonate in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
