Brenda J. Taylor, 62 of rural Neodesha, Kansas passed away at 1:50 A.M., Sunday, June 25, 2017 at Kansas Heart Hospital in Wichita, Kansas.
Brenda Jayne Taylor was born July 15, 1954 in Fredonia, Kansas the daughter of Charles W. Adams and Julia (Manning) Adams. She grew up in Fredonia and graduated from Fredonia High School in 1972.
On February 27, 1982 in Fredonia she was united in marriage to James G. Taylor and he preceded her in death April 6, 2017.
She attended Fort Scott Community college for a year and later Central Bible College in Springfield, Missouri. She received her Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and Registered Nurse (RN) training at Neosho County Community College. She received her Bachelors in Nursing degree in 2015.
Brenda worked for Fredonia Regional Hospital starting in 1972 as an Operating Room Tech and Certified Nurse Aid (CNA). While still working for the hospital she received her LPN in 1991 and RN in 1992. In 2004 she was the Nurse Manager at the hospital. She retired after many years with the hospital in June of 2017.
Brenda’s favorite hobbies were working, loved to have fun and she collected Occupied Japan china. She loved going and being involved with the Grace First Assembly of God Church. She was Director of the Missionettes for many years at the church.
Survivors include son Alexander Taylor of Fredonia, Kansas, sister Judy Ballard of Fredonia, Kansas and brother, Herb Adams of Fredonia, Kansas.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Celebration of Life Funeral Services will be held 10:00 A.M., Friday, June 30, 2017 at Grace First Assembly of God Church with Pastor Ray Pile, officiating.
Interment will follow at a later date.
Memorial remembrances are suggested to Grace First Assembly Mercy House and they may be mailed or left at Wickham Family Funeral Home, 510 North 7th, Fredonia, Kansas 66736.
