Blaine David Crellin, age 81, passed away unexpectedly on June 14, 2025, in Chanute, Kansas. He was born on June 6, 1944, in Anselmo, Nebraska, to Roland and Florence (Farlee) Crellin.
Blaine lived a life marked by dedication to both his family and his career. Blaine worked various jobs throughout his life which include, working on his mother and stepfather’s mink ranch in Minnesota, fighting forest fires in Alaska, he also worked as a finish carpenter, did electrical work, and later on with his strong Christian faith he began traveling as a minister which brought him to Chanute, where he worked at such places as Campfire, Churchill, and for the last majority of his working life, Blaine devoted himself to the maintenance department of Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center, where he became known for his strong work ethic and commitment to ensuring the facility was in top shape for both staff and patients.
Beyond his professional life, Blaine was a man of many passions. He embraced the great outdoors as an avid outdoorsman, relishing moments spent hunting, fishing, and camping. His love for cars and motorcycles also defined a significant part of his character—each ride reflected his adventurous spirit and zest for life.
Central to Blaine's heart were his family and loved ones. He found immense joy in his children, Blaine Crellin of Chanute, Kansas, Dwayne Crellin of Chanute, Kansas, and Sarah Crellin of Lawton, Oklahoma. As a proud grandfather to 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, Blaine cherished the time spent with them, creating memories that they will fondly carry with them always.
Blaine is predeceased by his parents and one sister, whose memories and influences will continue to resonate within his family. He will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure to know him, as his legacy of love and passion for life lives on through his children and grandchildren.
Memorials in honor of Blaine David Crellin are suggested to the American Legion Riders of Chanute, and can be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Wickham Family Funeral Home, 500 North Forest Ave. Chanute, Kansas.
