Wayne E. Keplinger

Wayne E. Keplinger, age 63, of Cherryvale, Kansas passed away on March 28, 2022 at the Labette County Medical Center, in Parsons, KS. He was born in Iola, KS on November 22, 1958 to Roy and Kathleen Keplinger. Wayne grew up in Cherryvale where he attended Cherryvale High School and graduated in 1976. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Pittsburg State University.

Wayne worked in the banking industry in Kansas City for several years and was employed at Boeing Aerospace Company in Wichita before moving back to the Southeast Kansas area. He enjoyed researching family history and following the KU Jayhawks, KC Chiefs, and KC Royals. He looked forward to being with his kids, grandkids, and extended family whenever he could.

Wayne was married to Patricia Miller from 1989-2002. Survivors include their six children:

Kyle Keplinger (Tia); Brandon Keplinger (Samantha); Kassie Keplinger (Zach); Kaleb Keplinger (Kayla); Jake Keplinger and Brennah Keplinger; 2 brothers: Dale Keplinger (Bobby); Paul Keplinger (Wendy); 4 sisters: Anita Sefers (Don); Sharon Keplinger; Debra Bia (Louis); Diane Hull (Duane); 8 grandchildren; and several nephews.

He was proceeded in death by his father, Roy Keplinger, his mother, Kathleen Keplinger, and an infant sister, Carolyn.

A memorial Mass will be held at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Cherryvale, KS at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 2nd for those who would like to attend.

Graveside services will be held at Lone Elm Cemetery, in Lone Elm, KS on Saturday, April 2nd at 11:00 a.m.
