Walter Allen Stockton

Walter Allen Stockton, 75, a longtime resident of Fredonia, Kansas died Saturday, December 28, 2013. He was born March 7, 1938 in Wichita, Kansas, the son of Charles Floyd Stockton and Johanne Neilson. Throughout the years, Walt worked various jobs, including Gilstrap Lumber, the Turkey Farm, Paul Crawshaw Construction, Del-Rey Campers, Murphy Electric, owner of J&W Rubber Stamp, owner of grocery stores in Moline and Burden, J&W Crafts and Bacani Plaza. On November 28, 1964 in Chanute, Kansas, Walt was united in marriage to Judy Ann Ehmke. She survives at their home. Walt was a member of the Sacred Heart Church in Fredonia. He had been a volunteer with the Fredonia Police Department Reserves. His hobbies included bowling, woodcrafts and fishing. In addition to his wife, Judy, Walt is survived by: Daughter: Johanna Lewis of Fredonia, KS Son: Jeffery Stockton of Fredonia, KS Sister: Lois Bowlby of Hutchinson, KS Three grandchildren Walter was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Hellen Cole and two grandchildren, Buffy Ann Lewis and Austin James Lewis. A rosary will be said at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, January 13, 2013 followed by mass at 10:30 A.M. at the Sacred Heart Church with Father Stephen Thapwa officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 2, 2013, 5:00-7:00 P.M. at Timmons Funeral Home.
