In high school, he was active in sports, managing the football team and played golf and basketball. He was active a as a manager for the ICC basketball team and was an avid fan and supporter of Pirate Basketball until his death.

Vic was talented and excelled at all he pursued. He was a championship golfer and loved the game. He had wonderful memories of going on golf trips with his long-time high school friends to prominent golf courses around the country. He was a member and played at the Independence Country Club until his death.

His interests included bow hunting in later years, as evidenced in his home where several mounts hang. He loved the outdoors and spent many summer days doing yard work and fishing. In years past, he loved his horse Jay and did a memorable trail ride through New Mexico.

Vic was employed at Gragg Cabinet and Vallis Wngrof in Cherryvale, and Flesh Printing in Parsons. He later worked at Cessna Aircraft as a Sheet Metal Mechanic in Independence, KS and at Bell Helicopter in Amarillo, TX, where he loved going to hockey games.

He retired back to his hometown of Cherryvale due to heart issues. Upon returning, he used his hunting expertise to guide hunters that would come to the area for expeditions. In later years, he found solace in creating original art by painting his dogs and various landscapes. Vic always loved his dogs and had several during his lifetime. They were his family and always his priority. He loved his friends, the Cherryvale Chargers, Pittsburg State Gorillas and the Kansas Jayhawks. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Parish in Cherryvale.
