Veva M. Luke

Veva M. Luke, 73, a resident of Fredonia, Kansas, died Tuesday, February 6, 2007 at Windsor Place in Coffeyville, Kansas. She was born August 19, 1933 near Elk Falls, Kansas, the daughter of Henry J. and Ida Mae (Graham) Beiter. She was a homemaker. On March 5, 1951 in Miami, Oklahoma, she married Robert David Luke. He preceded her in death February 21, 1986. She was active for many years with the Eagles in Fredonia and had been a member of H.D.U. For a few years, she also worked as a custodian and cook in the Fredonia schools. Her Survivors include: One Son: Lawrence Luke of Bonner Springs, KS Two Daughters: Roberta Peirce of Fredonia, KS Connie Ogle of Fredonia, KS One Brother: Jimmie Beiter of South Coffeyville, OK 7 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Josh Luke; and one great-grandson, Bryan Hanson. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, February 9, 2007 at the Timmons Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gene Benefiel of the Buxton Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in the Crisco Cemetery near Howard, Kansas. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, 5:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. Memorials have been established in her name with the Alzheimer"s Foundation and Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice and may be sent to the funeral home.
