Thelma Fern Henderson, 93, a resident of Fredonia, Kansas died Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at Golden Living Center in Fredonia. She was born December 23, 1919 in Neodesha, Kansas, the daughter of Leon and Blanch (Haines) Busby. Thelma was a graduate of Neodesha High School. She worked for Boeing Aircraft in Wichita during WWII and was a seamstress at Samsonite in Denver for many years. On September 5, 1939 in Neodesha, Thelma was united in marriage to Reynolds W. Henderson. Thelma and Reynolds lived in Denver, Colorado and retired in Tucson, Arizona. He preceded her in death in 1999. After Reynolds death, Thelma moved to Fredonia. Thelma"s survivors include: One sister: Doris N. Streets of Fredonia, KS Nieces and Nephews: Richard Reed Streets of Slidell, LA Kenneth Lowell Streets of Fredona, KS Lowell Bruce Busby of St. Paul, KS David Brent Busby of Humboldt, KS Brian Leon Busby of Topeka, KS Belinda Kay (Busby) Davis of Chanute, KS Beverly Lynn (Busby) Flessner of Altoona, KS Brett Alan Busby of Chanute, KS Her parents, Leon and Blanch Busby; and one brother, Lowell Leon Busby also preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Timmons Funeral Home with Pastor Carl Ellis of the First United Methodist Church officiating. A visitation has been scheduled prior to the funeral, Noon-1:00 P.M. A memorial has been established in Thelma"s name with the First United Methodist Church and contributions can be sent to or left with Timmons Funeral Home.
