Thelma Delores Reynolds

Thelma Delores Reynolds, 93, a resident of Neodesha, Kansas died Thursday, May 30, 2013 at Golden Living Center in Neodesha. She was born March 26, 1920 in Chanute, Kansas, the daughter of Walter and Nora Martina (Hicks) Whisler. Thelma was trained as a licensed practical nurse. Throughout the years, she worked as an LPN at Ashley Clinic and Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center in Chanute and Golden Keys Nursing Home in Neodesha. On September 9, 1935, Thelma was united in marriage to Joseph James Reynolds. He preceded her in death in 1988. Thelma enjoyed her involvement in the EHU Unit in Chanute and was active in various church affiliations. She spent many hours gardening, caring for her roses, sewing and cooking. She also owned Thelma"s Caf" in Altoona for several years. Thelma"s survivors include: Daughters: Marilyn Creel of Wichita, KS Rhonda Taylor of New Strawn, KS Son: Stanley Reynolds of Neodesha, KS Daughter-in-law: Ramona Reynolds of Neodesha, KS Son-in-law: Bob L. Burgan of Valley Center, KS Brother: Roy Whisler of Fredonia, KS Seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren Her parents, Walter and Nora Whisler; son, Floyd A. Reynolds; daughter, Barbara J. Burgan; and several brothers and sisters also preceded her in death. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, June 7, 2013 at the Altoona Cemetery with Dewayne Prosser officiating. A visitation has been scheduled prior to the graveside on Friday morning, 9:00 A.M.-10:30 A.M. at Timmons Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to Golden Living Center of Neodesha and contributions can be sent to or left with Timmons Funeral Home.
