Sybil A. Beard

Sybil A. Beard, 80, a resident of rural Fredonia, Kansas, died Tuesday, April 24, 2007 at Fredonia Regional Hospital. She was born March 27, 1927 in Squires, Missouri, the daughter of William Henry and Alpha Mae (Hardcastle) Manning. She was a homemaker. On June 5, 1946 in Erie, Kansas, she married Alfred Beard. He survives at their home. She was a longtime member of the First Assembly of God Church in Fredonia. Survivors, in addition to her husband, Alfred, include: Three Sons: Thomas Beard of Locust Grove, Oklahoma Delbert Beard of Bemidji, Minnesota Dwight Beard of Fredonia, Kansas One Daughter: Donna Dowty of Butler, Missouri Two Brothers: Max Manning of Topeka, Kansas Billy Manning of Highlandville, Missouri Three Sisters: Julia Adams of Fredonia, Kansas Patsy Rice of Omaha, Nebraska Katherine Mayfield of Topeka, Kansas Twelve Grandchildren and Six Great Grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, April 27, 2007 at the First Assembly of God Church with Pastor Gary Sherman officiating. Burial will be in the Weakley Cemetery near New Albany. Friends may call at Timmons Funeral Home on Thursday, 2:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M., where the family will receive friends 6:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. A memorial has been established in her name with the Alzheimer"s Foundation and may be sent to the funeral home.
