Sharon Lea Lazzers

January 18, 1946 — July 28, 2013

Sharon Lazzers, 67, a longtime resident of Eureka, Kansas, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 28, 2013 at her home in Eureka. She was born January 18, 1946 in Eureka, the daughter of Dale and Virginia Lea (Becker) Rice. Sharon retired in 2000 as the manager of Johnson"s General Store where she had worked for 20 years. She was married to Delbert Denner and to this union was born one son, Darrin. They were later divorced. On May 15, 1971 in Eureka, Sharon was united in marriage to Bob Lazzers. They enjoyed 42 years together. To this union, one daughter, Tricia, was born. Sharon was a member of the Jefferson Street Baptist Church in Eureka. She enjoyed traveling, boating and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren"s athletic activities and following her brothers and nephews with their cutting horses. She was member of the Central States, St. Louis, Mid-South and Southern Drag Boat Associations and was a camp host at the El Dorado Lake for ten years. Sharon"s survivors include: One son: Darrin Denner of Eureka, KS One daughter: Tricia Vinson of Eureka, KS Brothers: Sonny Rice of Sealy, TX Mike Rice of Bartlesville, OK Ronnie Rice of Centerville, TX Raymond Rice of Lipan, TX Sisters: Judy McKenzie of Bartlesville, OK Darlene Delpine of Eureka, KS Carolyn Sanborn of Ketchum, OK Grandchildren: Chase Mayfield, Caleb Mayfield and Tori Vinson Her parents, Dale and Virginia Rice and one sister, Martha Town preceded her in death. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, August 5, 2013 at the Jefferson Street Baptist Church with Pastor Sonny Rice and Pastor John Craighead officiating. Inurnment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery at Eureka. A memorial has been established in Sharon"s name with the Greenwood County Home Health and contributions can be sent to or left with the funeral home.
