Reuben Schultz, 86, a resident of Fredonia, Kansas, and longtime resident of rural Neodesha, Kansas, died early morning on Saturday, September 5, 2009, at Golden Living Center in Neodesha, Kansas. He was born April 26, 1923 in Coy, Oklahoma, the son of Peter and Lena (Nightingale) Schultz. He was a farmer all of his life. On December 19, 1943 in Halstead, Kansas, he married Rosalee Mae Unruh. She preceded him in death June 27, 2005. He was a member of the Church of God in Christ-Mennonite Church, rural Fredonia, Kansas. Reuben"s survivors include: Four sons: Chester Schultz of Neodesha, KS Lennis Schultz of Fredonia, KS Mark Schultz of Fredonia, KS Mervin Schultz of Versailles, MO Three daughters: Elaine Schultz of Fredonia, KS Carolyn Koehn of Galva, KS Juanita Koehn of Elk City, KS Three sisters: Eva Schultz of Fredonia, KS Martha Nichols of Okahona, MS Delores Jantz of El Campo, TX One brother: Tobie Schultz of Montezuma, KS 27 Grandchildren and 35 Great Grandchildren He was also preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Cornelius, Jonas, Don, Josie, Agnes and Alice. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at Church of God In Christ-Mennonite, south of Fredonia. Burial will be in the Emmanuel Cemetery. The family will receive friends 7:00 P.M.- 8:30 P.M. on Monday, September 7, 2009 at the Mennonite Church. A memorial has been established in Reuben"s name with the Church of God in Christ-Mennonite and may be sent to the funeral home. Words of condolence for the family may be left on this website.
