Peggy J. Smith

Peggy J. Smith 77, of rural Neodesha, Kansas passed away on Friday, April 21, 2023.

Peggy was born June 17, 1945, to David and Elsie (Masden) Powers in Fredonia, Kansas and graduated from Fredonia High School in 1963.

On August 17, 1963, Peggy was united in marriage to Joe D. Smith in La Fontaine, Kansas. To this union were born Lori and Andy. They were married for 59 years until Joe’s passing on October 1, 2022.

Peggy worked side by side with her husband, Joe on the ranch. In the early 2000’s she received her CNA.

She enjoyed doing word searches, jigsaw puzzles and watching Hallmark movies.

Peggy was preceded in death by her husband Joe, son, Andy J. Smith and son-in-law, Ryan D. Oneal.

Peggy is survived by her daughter, Lori Oneal of Fredonia, Kansas, grandchildren; Lindsey Ramos Freitas (Helio), Hayden, Heston and Holton Smith.

Private family services will be held under the direction of Wickham Family Funeral Home.
