Peggy Barbara Jean Cavaness

Peggy Barbara Jean, (Allen) Cavaness, 86, of Cherryvale, Kansas passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at Labette Health in Parsons, Kansas.

Peggy was born July 1, 1934 at Middletown, Missouri the daughter of James Leon Allen and Anna Susan (Murfin) Allen.

On December 31, 1953 in Caney, Kansas she was united in marriage to David T. Cavaness and he preceded her in death. She devoted her life to being a wonderful minister’s wife and mother. She was always there to support and pray for those in need. She gave her life to Christ in1956. She served along side her husband in the ministry with the Bible Holiness Church. They ministered in Caney, Cherokee, Cherryvale and Oswego before retiring in 1990 after 30 years.

Peggy was member of Cherryvale Bible Holiness Church and served as Sunday School Teacher and Board member.

Survivors include her children, David (Renea) Cavaness of Cherrryvale, Kansas, Bruce (Becky) Cavaness of Farmington, Arkansas, Tim (Dedra) Cavaness of Thayer, Kansas, Dottie (Tim) Preston of Oswego, Kansas, brother, Jimmy Allen of North Dakota, 8 grandchildren, Josh, Michael, Shanda, Benton, Chesna, Tiffany, Jareth, Aleena, 11 great grandchildren, Malachi, Jayden, Owen, Zane, Elliot, Audrey, Jefrey, Adalaide, Ellery, Loreli and Riley.

She was preceded in death by five sisters, two brothers, her parents and husband.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Monday, April 5, 2021 at Wickham Family Funeral Home, 216 East 4th, Cherryvale, Kansas.

Celebration of Life Services will be held 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at Bible Holiness Church in Cherryvale with Rev. Duane Johnson, officiating.

Interment will follow the service at Fairview Cemetery in Cherryvale.

Memorial remembrances are suggested to the Cherryvale Bible Holiness Church and they may be left or mailed to the funeral home.
